KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, graced the QSR Brands Shared Efforts in Helping Underprivileged Students event at a hotel today.
The sovereign was greeted upon arrival by QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands) chief executive officer cum managing director Nehchal Khanna and the company's top management.
Also present was Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
At the event, His Majesty also witnessed the presentation of a mock cheque for RM1 million from Nehchai to representatives of the first recipients of selected educational institutions, namely SK Tasek Utara, in Johor Bahru (Sekolah Rintis Bangsa Johor) and the Baitul Sakinah Care Centre in Selangor.
Meanwhile, Nehchai said the initiative was inspired by the King's concern to always prioritise giving back to the community and supporting the country's development, even in challenging times.
"This initiative focuses on education and welfare by providing students with a stronger foundation and meaningful opportunities to improve their lives,” he said in his speech.
