KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 — The strong performance of Lembaga Tabung Haji’s (TH) profit distribution, its highest in eight years, is the result of institutional reforms focused on strengthening governance, restoring fundamentals, and reinforcing management accountability, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
In a Facebook post today, Anwar said the reforms were also aimed at restoring and elevating TH in line with its original founding principles centred on trust, integrity and responsibility towards the Muslim community.
“Thank God, today’s announcement of Tabung Haji’s dividend, which marks its best performance in eight years, is welcome news for Muslims ahead of Aidilfitri.
“May this positive development bring greater gratitude and peace of mind in welcoming Aidilfitri, while strengthening confidence in our efforts to continue safeguarding this institution for the collective good, God willing,” he said.
TH today announced a profit distribution of 3.5 per cent after zakat for the 2025 financial year, its highest rate since 2018.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Zulkifli Hasan said total profit distribution amounted to RM3.22 billion, which would benefit more than 9.7 million TH depositors.
The rate was achieved after accounting for a 2.577 per cent zakat rate, which amounted to RM95.3 million.
