SHAH ALAM, March 17 — Twenty-eight cleaning workers at the State Secretariat Building received Hari Raya Aidilfitri duit raya contributions as a token of appreciation for their efforts in ensuring the premises' cleanliness and upkeep.
State executive councillor for women’s empowerment and social welfare Anfaal Saari said the initiative continues the legacy of previous leadership that has been consistently upheld each year ahead of Aidilfitri as a sign of care for cleaning workers.
“This contribution is not only a token of remembrance, but will hopefully provide support and ease the burden on workers in preparing to celebrate Aidilfitri with their families.
“They also play an important role in ensuring the State Secretariat Building's environment remains clean and comfortable. As such, this appreciation is given as a gesture of gratitude for their commitment,” she said after presenting the duit raya today.

Meanwhile, recipient Halimah Sulaiman, 69, expressed her gratitude and said she was touched by the contribution, describing it as a meaningful form of appreciation.
She said the assistance helps to ease her family’s burden in preparing for Aidilfitri, especially in providing basic necessities to celebrate the festive season with loved ones.
“Although it is not much, it is very meaningful to us. Our Aidilfitri preparations are modest according to our means, but still joyful as we can gather with our children and grandchildren,” Halimah said.

Another recipient, Suryanita Safie, 46, also appreciated the initiative, describing it as a sign of concern for cleaning workers who often do their work behind the scenes.
She said the contribution greatly helps them prepare for Aidilfitri with greater peace of mind and happiness, while also motivating them to continue fulfilling their responsibilities with dedication.
“Alhamdulillah (God be praised), this contribution is very meaningful for us and helps greatly in preparing for Aidilfitri. It brings joy and allows our families to celebrate Syawal with greater peace and gratitude,” said Suryanita.
