SHAH ALAM, 16 March — A total of 70 residents from the Banting state constituency (DUN Banting) received food boxes donated by Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) at Dewan Sungai Manggis, Kuala Langat, yesterday afternoon.
Executive councillor for Human Resources and Poverty Eradication, Papparaidu Veraman, said the initiative is part of the state government’s welfare programme aimed at easing the burden of those in need ahead of Aidilfitri celebrations.
The Banting assemblyman expressed hope that the donations would help reduce daily expenses for recipients and bring joy to their families.
“The state government is always committed to ensuring the welfare of the people is given priority, particularly those in need in the face of rising cost of living,” he said in a Facebook post.
The handover ceremony was also attended by community leaders from DUN Banting, including representatives from the Kuala Langat City Council (MPKL), village heads, Indian community leaders, Pusat Wanita Berdaya (PWB) representatives, and Sukarelawan Selangor (SUKA) volunteers from the constituency.
