SHAH ALAM, March 12 — Three individuals, including a seven-month-old baby boy, were killed in an accident involving two vehicles at the junction of Jalan Bunga Kertas, Bukit Sentosa in Hulu Selangor, today.
Berita Harian reported Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Ibrahim Husin as saying that they received information about the incident at 9.45am, involving a car and a motorcycle.
“Preliminary investigations found that the accident occurred at about 9am when the motorcycle was travelling from the direction of Taman Widuri towards Sungai Choh.
“Upon reaching the scene, a car coming from the opposite direction is believed to have turned right, causing the motorcyclist to be unable to avoid it and collide with the left side of the vehicle,” he said when contacted.
Two victims were confirmed dead at the scene.
“They were the 25-year-old motorcyclist, who worked as a salesperson, and the rear passenger of the car, an 88-year-old elderly woman.
“The driver and front passenger of the car, a 60-year-old man and woman respectively, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital,” he said.
Ibrahim added that the infant, who had been in the arms of the rear passenger, was also seriously injured before being confirmed dead at the same hospital at about 11am.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
