SHAH ALAM, March 12 — The Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) captured three cows wandering around several locations in Banting following public complaints on March 7.
The operation, which took place from 3 am to 5 am, was carried out to ensure public safety and prevent road accidents.
MPKL said 10 enforcement officers were involved in the sweep at multiple locations, including Padang Awam Chodoi, Kampung Bandar; Jalan Permatang Pasir, Kampung Permatang Pasir; and Jalan Ladang, Kampung Bandar.
“As a result of the operation, three cows were successfully captured,” the council said in a statement.
The action was carried out under Section 5(1) of the Kuala Langat Cattle and Buffalo Control Enactment 1971, which prohibits keeping or allowing cattle to roam in prohibited areas.
The capture also followed Section 4(1)(a) of the same enactment, MPKL added.
The council reminded livestock owners to keep their animals under control and not allow them to wander freely to ensure the safety of the community.
