SHAH ALAM, March 9 — Tourism Selangor promoted its tourism offerings, including its geopark attractions, to the European market at the recently-concluded ITB Berlin 2026, in support of the Visit Selangor Year 2026 campaign.
In a statement, the state tourism agency said the geoparks form part of Selangor’s unique nature-based tourism products.
"Tourism Selangor’s participation in ITB Berlin 2026 strengthened engagement with international tourism stakeholders and increased awareness of Selangor’s tourism products in the European market," it said yesterday.
Tourism Selangor also introduced the ‘Selangor — Surprisingly Unique Experiences’ travel packages in collaboration with Dusky Leaf Adventures, specifically targeting the European market.
"The packages were presented by Dusky Leaf Adventures CEO Kingston Khoo during the evening cocktails and networking session organised by MATTA. The presentation received positive feedback from the audience," it said yesterday.
At the exhibition, the Selangor delegation, led by Tourism Selangor CEO Chua Yee Ling, attended the Malaysia Pavilion launch officiated by Tourism Malaysia director-general Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing also visited the Tourism Selangor booth during the exhibition.
Tourism Selangor also hosted a networking dinner with key partners on March 4 to strengthen collaboration and explore opportunities to further promote the state's tourism offerings in the European market.
The Selangor delegation was also invited to visit the Abgeordnetenhaus von Berlin (State Parliament of Berlin), providing an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic and institutional ties.
ITB Berlin 2026 is the world's leading travel trade show, held from March 3–5 at Messe Berlin.
Selangor is targeting nine million tourists this year as part of Visit Selangor Year 2026, after a resounding success during last year's campaign that saw the state attract 8.42 million visitors, surpassing its original target of eight million.
This year's campaign also coincides with Visit Malaysia 2026.
