SHAH ALAM, March 5 — The Selangor Road Transport Department (JPJ) carried out a special enforcement operation on March 1, inspecting 71,918 commercial vehicles across the state.
Selangor JPJ director Azrin Borhan said officers found 5,053 vehicles with various violations during the operation, issuing a total of 23,471 summonses.
“Among the offending vehicles, technical violations were the highest at 4,336, followed by drivers without a road/PSV licence, totalling 2,077 vehicles,” he said.
“In addition, 1,800 vehicles lacked a standard driving licence (CDL), 1,884 breached road tax regulations, 689 were uninsured, and 3,204 violated other rules.”
He added that of the 23,471 notices issued, 14,208 were P22 summonses, 4,126 were vehicle prohibition orders, 3,983 were inspection orders, and 250 were notices for investigation or other related matters.
Azrin emphasised that the Selangor JPJ will continue to strengthen supervision and enforcement to ensure road traffic laws are complied with, especially for commercial vehicles.
