SHAH ALAM, 4 March — The MYsaveFood programme organised by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council’s (MPAJ) Department of Urban Services and Health successfully collected 301.4kg of food and drinks at five Ramadan bazaar locations.

According to MPAJ, the highest collection was recorded at Bandar Baru Ampang Ramadan Bazaar with 171.4kg, followed by Pandan Indah Municipal Field (53kg), Taman Sri Bayu (47kg), and Taman Melawati (30kg).

“Of the total collected on March 3, 98.4kg were food items while 203kg were drinks.

“This initiative aims to reduce waste and minimise disposal at landfills,” the statement said.

MPAJ added that surplus food and drinks in good condition will be distributed to Masjid Al-Azim, Pandan Indah; Masjid Bandar Baru Ampang; Masjid Al-Hidayah, Taman Melawati; and Masjid Ubudiah, Tasik Tambahan.

The MYsaveFood programme runs from February 23 to March 11, starting at 5pm, as an ongoing effort to reduce food wastage throughout Ramadan.
