SHAH ALAM, Feb 26 — Facilities for tarawih prayers will be provided at Aneka Walk in Section 14 here for today and Friday, as well as on March 6 and 7, the venue announced today.
The Ramadan-time event will be held from 7.30pm to 10pm on both days, and aims to draw visitors from the Shah Alam PKNS Complex, SACC Mall and surrounding areas to perform congregational Maghrib, Isyak and tarawih prayers.
“Moreh”, or refreshments, will also be provided.
Previously, SA Sentral chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Najib Ibrahim said tarawih prayer facilities would be prepared even though the Aneka Walk project hasn’t been completed.
Aneka Walk is part of the SA Sentral development under the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), and aims to revive the walkway between the Shah Alam PKNS Complex and SACC Mall.
Aneka Walk, with an area of 4.5sqkm and length of 300m, also functions as an event and culture hub, and can house up to 3,000 visitors at any given time.
Yesterday, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari launched the annual Selangor Ramadan Festival (FESTIRA) to foster a celebratory atmosphere ahead of Aidilfitri. The festival aims to draw three million visitors until it ends on March 20.
Aneka Walk is one of the locations for FESTIRA, which is now in its 12th edition, featuring over 1,000 traders. Other locations include the Shah Alam PKNS Complex, Bangi PKNS Complex, and SACC Mall.
