SHAH ALAM, Feb 25 — The Selangor Ramadan Festival (FESTIRA) is back this year ahead of Aidilfitri, with a target of attracting three million visitors until March 20.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the festival, now in its 12th year, will feature over 1,000 traders and be held at the Shah Alam PKNS Complex, Bangi PKNS Complex, SACC Mall, and the newest location — Aneka Walk.

He expressed hope that the new location would draw more visitors, including families, young people and tourists, to increase economic benefits for traders.

“I believe that with the various programmes to be held, including tarawih prayers, activities here won’t end after people break their fast, but continue into the night with sales and attractive performances.

“The Shah Alam PKNS Complex and SACC Mall have their own audiences, and in the final week of Ramadan, sales will go on till late night,” he said.

Amirudin added that Aneka Walk presents a new element with live music and performances, which provides for an urban open-concept, roofed Aidilfitri shopping and community activity experience.

“This approach makes FESTIRA more than just a seasonal sales festival, but a high-impact, dynamic urban experience,” he told a press conference after launching FESTIRA.

Also present was Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) group chief executive officer Dato’ Mahmud Abbas.

FESTIRA is backed by official strategic partners including PKNS Super App, Selangor Zakat Board (LZS), Selangor Public Libraries Corporation (PPAS), and Bateriku.com.

The annual festival aims to support the state government’s agenda to help traders generate income, in line with efforts to empower community-based economies through Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars.
