KOTA KINABALU, Feb 23 — The number of flood victims in Sabah dropped to 5,017 people placed at 32 temporary relief centres (PPS) across three affected districts: Pitas, Paitan, and Tawau tonight.
The Sabah State Disaster Management Secretariat said the figure showed a slight decrease from 5,036 people recorded this afternoon.
“The number of flood victims in Pitas declined slightly to 2,701 tonight compared with 2,720 this afternoon,” it said in a statement.
The number of victims in Paitan remained at 2,071, while in Tawau it also remained unchanged at 245 people still sheltering at PPS in the two districts.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms in several interior areas of Sabah in the morning, afternoon, and tonight.
