SHAH ALAM, Feb 12 — The mayor of Shah Alam described the Excellent Service Award (Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang, APC) he received last night for 2025 as a catalyst to further enhance public service for residents.
Dato’ Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said the recognition was not just for himself, but also as a motivation for all staff at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) to maintain their excellent performance.
He added that one of his main priorities is to make MBSA a respected local authority, capable of resolving a wide range of issues for the community.
“The award is a special honor, and it really belongs to MBSA staff themselves, encouraging them to continue providing excellent service,” he told Media Selangor.
“Of course, as civil servants, we face challenging demands as Shah Alam enters a new era. We must adapt to these changes by improving the way we work to be more efficient,” he added.

Earlier, Mohd Fauzi received the excellence award from Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during the APC and Jasamu Dikenang (AJD) ceremony.
In the event, a total of 124 civil servants from Selangor received the APC, while 34 retirees and soon-to-be retirees were honored with the AJD.
Meanwhile, Mohamad Nizam Marjugi, executive director of the Selangor Sports Council (MSN), said the award carries a responsibility to work even harder.
“From the beginning, we have supported the state government’s policies to ensure sports in Selangor continue to progress and achieve success,” he said.

“In conjunction with the Malaysia Games (SUKMA), we will ensure athletes representing the state give their best, while the secretariat works to maintain venues in perfect condition,” he added.
Earlier, Amirudin said in his speech that civil servants must continue to increase competitiveness and carry out their duties responsibly to ensure the state’s development agenda proceeds smoothly.
He emphasized that civil servants must keep moving forward this year, working harder to ensure Selangor’s achievements remain exemplary.
