SHAH ALAM, Feb 9 — KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) has partnered with PUSPAKOM Sdn Bhd to carry out mobile inspections of its operational vehicles, including compactor trucks and armroll/roll-on roll-off (RORO) units.
The mobile inspection programme, scheduled to begin on February 14, follows a series of discussions between KDEBWM and PUSPAKOM, the country’s official vehicle inspection agency.
The approach allows inspections to be conducted on-site, eliminating the need to send vehicles to inspection centres and helping to save time and expedite the process.
KDEB Waste Management managing director Dato’ Ramli Mohd Tahir said vehicle safety remains a top priority and that mobile inspections help support smoother daily operations.
“Every six months, KDEBWM lorries must undergo PUSPAKOM inspections, while these vehicles are used daily to collect waste from more than seven million residents in Selangor.
“With mobile inspections, waiting times can be reduced and service disruptions during the inspection process minimised,” he said.
Meanwhile, KDEBWM said its collaboration with PUSPAKOM aims to strengthen governance, improve operational standards and instil a culture of safety compliance among employees and subcontractors.
The company said it hopes the strategic collaboration will be continued and set as a best practice benchmark in Malaysia’s solid waste management industry.
