KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 2 — Inisiatif Buku Darul Ehsan (IBDE) is offering discounts of up to 20 per cent to visitors of the Kuala Lumpur Alternative Book Festival (KLABF) 2026, which runs from Friday (January 30) to tomorrow at Pasar Seni.
Its corporate sales executive Muhammad Nazmi Tusimun said the initiative is also offering free membership registration through the Bukuwan IBDE programme, which features various rewards and attractive discounts, in conjunction with its participation in KLABF 2026.
Registered members are eligible for a 20 per cent discount on purchases of three or more books, while a 15 per cent discount is offered on purchases of one to two books. Members of the public are still entitled to a general 10 per cent discount.
“Registration for Bukuwan IBDE membership is free. Members will also receive a bookmark, stickers, and a mini calendar as gifts,” he told Media Selangor during the festival yesterday.

Nazmi added that other special offers include a Ghazali Muda works bundle comprising 12 volumes at a promotional price of RM120, compared with the original price of RM150.
The two best-selling titles so far are the translated books Basikal Curi and Pedro Paramo, translated by a writer from Taiwan through a collaboration between IBDE and the country’s Culture Ministry.
“So far, sales have reached approximately RM5,000. Visitor turnout has also increased due to the public holiday, which has drawn more people to the event,” he said.
Nazmi noted that IBDE has collaborated with graphic designer Saharil Conteng to produce special bear-themed illustrations, which are used as a visual attraction at their booth throughout KLABF 2026.
