SHAH ALAM, Jan 27 — A total of 1,260 traders have been offered spots at Ramadan bazaars across Petaling Jaya this year, according to the Corporate Communications Department of the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
The spots cover 13 key locations, chosen to meet the needs of traders and the public throughout Ramadan.
“The bazaar site allocations will be conducted this Wednesday (tomorrow). Among the locations involved are Kampung Lindungan PJS 6/3; Desa Mentari PJS 6/5; SS 8, Sungai Way; Section 17/1A; Section 14/27 (Pasar Seksyen 14); Lembah Subang; and several others,” the department said.
“The organised bazaar locations aim to ensure smooth business operations, visitor comfort, and compliance with food hygiene and safety standards throughout Ramadan,” it added.
In a related development, MBPJ said applications for fireworks and firecrackers sales licenses during the Chinese New Year and Aidilfitri celebrations will open on specified dates.
“For Chinese New Year, license applications open on February 3, with sales permitted from February 10 to March 3, 2026. For Aidilfitri, applications open on February 26, with sales allowed from March 5 to March 27, 2026,” the council said.
MBPJ added that all applicants must first obtain approval from the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters before completing their applications online via the portal elesen.mbpj.gov.my.
