SHAH ALAM, Jan 26 — A 2ha fire along the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) that broke out this afternoon is under control, said Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar.
He said the department received an emergency call at 12.58pm about a blaze near the DASH Denai Alam toll plaza.
“An engine from the Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the location at 1.22pm after a journey of about 12km,” he explained in a statement.
Mukhlis said the fire ignited in the forest, and that the blaze was brought under control at 3.40pm. However, extinguishing works are still underway to ensure there are no embers that could reignite.
“The operation involved eight personnel, a fire engine, and a tanker. So far, there have been no victims reported,’ he added.
Mukhlis also said the Saujana Utama Volunteer Firefighters Team was mobilised, with their engine arriving on location at 3.24pm.
