SHAH ALAM, Jan 19 — Local authorities have initiated an investigation to identify the cause of a landslide that was reported along a slope linking Taman Bukit Permai and Taman Saga in Ampang Jaya yesterday.
Teratai state assemblyman Yew Jia Haur said a meeting would be held with the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) and relevant technical agencies to obtain a clearer assessment of the situation, The Star reported.
“Currently, MPAJ personnel are onsite to carry out preliminary assessments of the cause and damage to surrounding areas.
“We are waiting for further advice before we can decide on the next course of action,” he said during a visit to the site yesterday, where workers from Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) and MPAJ’s Skuad Pantas were working to secure the slope.

A section of Jalan Saga 13 was also cordoned off to facilitate ongoing mitigation efforts.
Yew said immediate attention was focused on identifying the source of water flowing down the exposed soil on the affected slope.
The landslide on Sunday morning damaged a car parked along the roadside above the slope in Taman Mega. However, no injuries were reported and no homes were affected.
