SHAH ALAM, Jan 10 — The state government plans to hold a Royal Exhibition in conjunction with Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj’s Silver Jubilee this year, state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said.
Borhan said the show is planned for after the Dirgahayu Cinta exhibit, which features the Selangor Royal wedding, ends on May 31.
“At the same location (Sultan Alam Shah Museum), we do plan to hold a Royal 25-Year Silver Jubilee Celebration Exhibit. God willing, we will continue it until year end.
“The state government will also hold a Royal concert and various interesting activities throughout the year for the celebration,” he added when met on the opening day of the Dirgahayu Cinta exhibition here yesterday.
On the Sultan Alam Shah Museum, Borhan said it has logged 140,000 local and foreign visitors in the year since it reopened.
“This achievement is a proud victory and reflects the community’s trust and interest in the museum’s role as a knowledge, education and state heritage centre.
“We’re confident that with various exhibitions, visitor numbers will continue growing, and the achievement would be a catalyst for the management to improve programme and content quality, in line with the state government’s aspirations to empower Selangor’s heritage and identity,” he explained.
Celebrations for Sultan Sharafuddin’s Silver Jubilee have kicked off, with Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah set to embark on a Royal tour to the state’s nine districts this year.
