SHAH ALAM, Jan 4 — More employment opportunities will be created for women throughout this year, helping to advance them, said state executive councillor for women’s development and social welfare Anfaal Saari.
Several initiatives have been planned to enable women to return to work, including the Selangor Women’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme.
She said that efforts are also being made to assist women involved in business through the Usahanita Digital programme.
“Our focus in 2026 is to strengthen and expand welfare assistance in the form of women’s empowerment by providing job opportunities. We will also explore research in gender and artificial intelligence (AI).
“At the same time, we will not neglect assistance such as training the public in caring for disabled children and senior citizens,” she told Media Selangor.

Anfaal also expressed pride in the state government’s achievements throughout 2025, particularly in strengthening the Care Economy Agenda through high-impact programmes.
Its key successes include organising the Selangor Care Economy Summit, a first-of-its-kind initiative that brought together care industry players from within and outside the country.
She added that several memoranda of understanding were signed with various parties, including the private sector, higher education institutions, and international bodies during the summit.
Meanwhile, Anfaal described the restructuring of Yayasan Insan Istimewa Selangor (Yanis) as a significant achievement, as it now operates as an independent entity.
“InsyaAllah (God willing), we will continue to explore new opportunities to expand assistance to the people, especially in Selangor, so that the benefits can be felt comprehensively,” she said.
