Police probe into traffic jam caused by trailer carrying chopper

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 — An investigation is underway into a viral video showing a trailer carrying a helicopter on a public road, which caused a traffic jam recently, Subang Jaya district police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said.

He said police received a report on the video at 8.06pm yesterday.

Wan Azlan said preliminary investigations found that in the December 4 incident, which occurred at 4.30 pm, a trailer that was carrying a helicopter could not pass a slip road from the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) heading towards the Kewajipan roundabout in Subang Jaya.

“The trailer load’s excessive length led to it getting stuck, causing a traffic jam and disrupting road users,” he said in a statement today, adding that an ambulance was also held up by the congestion.

He said police have yet to identify the vehicle’s registration number, and that an investigation paper has been opened.

Wan Azlan urged anyone with information on the incident to contact the Subang Jaya district headquarters Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division investigating officer Mohd Azizul Hakim Roslan at 011-2891 4495.
