SHAH ALAM, Dec 7 — Some 500 primary and secondary students in the Kota Anggerik state constituency received school assistance through a joint initiative by Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, and Yayasan Koperasi Serbausaha Makmur Berhad (Kosma).
Kota Anggerik assemblyman Mohd Najwan Halimi said the aid comprised RM100 in cash, schoolbags, and stationery, specifically for students from low-income families.
“Thank you to Yayasan MBI and Yayasan Kosma for working together to channel contributions for children from low-income families in the Kota Anggerik constituency. I hope this can continue.
“Hopefully, this assistance will help ease the burden on parents as they prepare for the new school year,” he told the press after the Kota Anggerik back-to-school aid presentation ceremony today.

Meanwhile, one parent, Norazaliza Mahad, 39, expressed her gratitude as two of her five children were selected to receive the aid.
“It happens that the school reopening, Ramadan and Aidilfitri fall close together next year. This can be a burden for parents, especially those with many children, so this assistance is very helpful.
“Thank you to YB Najwan, who always goes to the ground and helps the people in Kota Anggerik,” she said.
Sharing her views, A. Saraswathy, 42, mother of V. Sabinaya, 10, said the aid is very meaningful as living costs keep rising.
“This assistance is very helpful, especially with the increasing cost of living. I hope the state government continues contributions like this,” she said.
