SHAH ALAM, Dec 7 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI Inter-Agency Sports Games concluded with a record participation of 1,878 staff members representing 21 contingents, making it the largest sports event organised among the state’s government-linked companies (GLCs) to date.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the achievement reflects the strength of collaborative networks between state government agencies, and demonstrates the readiness of GLC personnel to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.
“The games are not merely a competition, but also a platform to foster camaraderie, team spirit, and the identity of the wider MBI family that collectively leads Selangor’s development.
“Such an event deserves to be a permanent biennial programme as it boosts motivation, discipline, and productivity among staff,” he said when officiating the closing ceremony at the Shah Alam Sports Complex (Panasonic) yesterday.

This year’s edition featured seven sporting events, with 23 gold medals contested. The games began on November 12 with a go-kart race and culminated with the track events.
The closing ceremony was enlivened by a parade of 561 participants from all agencies, showcasing the sportsmanship and solidarity of staff under the MBI umbrella.
Air Selangor emerged as the games' overall champion, while KDEB Waste Management secured second place, and the Selangor Utility Corridor took third position.
A side event, the CEO Dash, also drew attention as Selangor GLC chief executives took part in a special run, adding a unique and cheerful element to this year’s games.
