Selangor river levels drop, Sg Bernam still at danger mark

SHAH ALAM, Dec 6 — The water levels at three of four main rivers in Selangor declined this morning, but Sungai Bernam in Sabak Bernam still exceeds the danger mark.

Based on Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS) data as at 10am, Sungai Bernam’s level at the Rimba KDR station was 2.51m — more than the danger threshold of 2.3m.

The water level at the station has been rising even though it wasn’t raining this morning.

In Kuala Langat, Sungai Langat’s level at the Bukit Changgang station was 3.96m, above the warning threshold of 3.8m, but has been dropping.

In Hulu Selangor, Sungai Bernam’s level at the SKC Bridge was 18.36m, more than the alert depth of 18.1m, but has also been declining.

And in Klang, Sungai Klang’s depth at the Bandar Klang station was 1.74m, under the alert mark of 2.4m.

No rain was recorded at the monitored areas, indicating stable weather.

The public, especially residents near rivers, are advised to be alert and follow updates from the authorities.
