SEPANG, Dec 5 — KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) has handed over 114 new operational trucks worth RM36 million to the Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) as part of efforts to enhance solid waste management efficiency for nearly 400,000 residents in the district.
Its managing director Dato' Ramli Mohd Tahir said MPSepang is the eighth local authority to receive the new assets, which include 39 compactor trucks with a capacity of 19 tonnes and equipped with the latest monitoring technology.

“Of the 114 trucks, 39 are compactor trucks, four are mini compactors for narrow and high-risk areas, while the remaining 71 are arm roll trucks to enhance the management of roll-on roll-off bins.
“The movement of each truck is monitored 24 hours a day through the Vehicle Monitoring System to prevent attempts to enter illegal dumping sites,” he said during the KDEBWM new compactor and arm roll truck handover ceremony at MPSepang's headquarters in Cyberjaya today.
Ramli added that the handover also marks a new phase in solid waste management in Sepang, in line with KDEBWM’s new service contract for the period from December 1 to August 31, 2032.

Meanwhile, Council President Ani Ahmad said the initiative is aligned with efforts to improve waste management services in the district, ensuring they are more efficient and systematic.
“The close monitoring by KDEBWM through the use of the Global Positioning System also enables better collection planning and reduces disruptions to services.
“MPSepang fully supports the initiative to utilise these new assets and logistics as part of KDEBWM’s efforts to enhance its service efficiency throughout Selangor,” she said.
