SHAH ALAM, Dec 2 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari was among several members of the Selangor Royal Council who took their oaths of reappointment before the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, during a ceremony at the Royal Hall in Istana Alam Shah, Klang, yesterday.
Also taking their oaths of reappointment as ex officio members were Tengku Laksamana Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah Alhaj and Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) chairman Dato’ Salehuddin Saidin.
Existing members of the Waris, Orang-Orang Besar, and Orang-Orang Tua groups were also presented with reappointment letters and took their oaths.
"The reappointments for the new term of the Selangor Royal Council members cover the period from December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2028," the Selangor Royal Office said in a Facebook post last night.
It added that His Royal Highness presented letters of appointment to two new members among the Orang-Orang Besar, including former Selangor state secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim, as well as Darul Ehsan Islamic Foundation (Yide) chairman and former deputy inspector-general of police Tan Sri Mazlan Mansor.
Another newly appointed member among the Orang Tua-Tua was Engku Sri Paduka Raja, Raja Dato’ Reza Alhaj Raja Zaib Alhaj.
Meanwhile, Amirudin expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him to serve another term on the royal council.
"May the council continue to be blessed and guided by Allah in carrying out its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the state laws," he said on X (formerly Twitter).
