KOTA KINABALU, Dec 1 — Ten state assemblymen were sworn in before Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman today as state Cabinet ministers in the newly-elected Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-led government.
Those who took the oath at Istana Seri Kinabalu comprised seven assemblymen from GRS, along with one each from United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko), Barisan Nasional (BN), and Pakatan Harapan.
Heading the list was Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) acting president cum Kundasang state assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, GRS secretary-general cum Karanaan state assemblyman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, and Kadamaian state assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick.
Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) vice-presidents Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif (Membakut) and Datuk Rubin Balang (Kemabong), PGRS information chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan (Apas), and Sugut PGRS division chief Datuk James Ratib (Sugut) also took their oaths of office.
PBS secretary-general Datuk Julita Mojungki (Matunggong), Sabah Umno secretary Datuk Jafry Ariffin (Sukau), and Melalap state assemblyman Datuk Jamawi Jaafar (Pakatan) completed the lineup of those sworn in.
Early yesterday morning, GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor was sworn in as the 17th Chief Minister of Sabah.
In the state election, the coalition won the most seats, securing 29 of the 73 seats up for grabs.
Parti Warisan (Warisan) won 25 seats, followed by BN (six), Independents (five), Upko (three), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (two), while Perikatan Nasional, Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat, and Pakatan each won one seat.
