SHAH ALAM, Dec 1 — Plaza Alam Sentral will be closed until the fourth quarter of next year for renovation, said the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).
In a statement today, it said the mall was closed in November as part of the SA Sentral development plan.
“SA Sentral is a strategic initiative by PKNS to upgrade buildings around the Shah Alam city centre, especially in Section 14, and make it a more dynamic and competitive modern urban hub.
“After these renovations, PKNS will take appropriate action on lease terminations, in line with the law and according to terms in the leases,” it said.
PKNS added that the mall will be transformed with a more modern, comfortable and attractive facade, and will be the main focus of not just Shah Alam residents, but those from across the Klang Valley.
SA Sentral is a mixed-development project by PKNS with a gross development value of RM3 billion.
It is expected to take seven to 10 years for completion, and will transform the Shah Alam landscape with innovative design, sustainable practices, and smart-city and low-carbon features.
Spanning a 58.67ha site, the SA Sentral project also involves the redevelopment of Plaza Perangsang, SACC Mall, Aneka Walk, Kompleks PKNS, and several other areas in Section 14.
