SHAH ALAM, Nov 30 — Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has emerged victorious in the 17th Sabah election by winning 29 seats.
According to the Bernama PRN Sabah 2025 microsite, Warisan won 25 seats, followed by Barisan Nasional (BN) with six, Independent candidates with five, United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) with three, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) with two, and one each for Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), Perikatan Nasional (PN), and Pakatan Harapan.
Meanwhile, a Bernama report said GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor would issue a statement on forming the new Sabah government after he returns from Istana Seri Kinabalu, where he was spotted, presumably to be sworn in as chief minister.
“I have made a written statement, I will go to the palace first then we will issue the statement,” he told reporters before heading to the palace from Sri Gaya here today.
Hajiji was accompanied by several GRS candidates who were victorious in the election.
