SHAH ALAM, Nov 28 — Floods in several areas around Sepang and Banting remain under control, with the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) continuing to patrol and monitor the situation.
Sepang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) supervisor Nazirul Akmal A. Rahman said several victims have been evacuated and handed over to medical teams.
“In Kampung Chincang, Sepang, three victims — two senior citizens and a 42-year-old man who suffered a heart attack as waters began rising — were handed over to the Sungai Pelek Health Clinic for transport to the hospital.
“Two other victims were sent to relatives’ homes in higher areas as their families did not wish to move to the temporary relief centre (PPS), given that the floods are not expected to persist,” he told Media Selangor.
Nazirul added that although the rain had stopped, they remained vigilant due to the possibility of heavy rain and high tide phenomena late at night.
“Other hotspots such as Kampung Sungai Keroh Batu 1 and Kampung Batu 2 are also being monitored every two hours,” he said.

Meanwhile, in Salak Tinggi, water levels that had reached up to four feet in several locations are now showing a downward trend.
“Water in two areas: Sungai Pinang Sebatang and the Salak Tinggi Public Market, have receded,” said KLIA BBP chief Razif Mohmad Haris.
Thirty-eight victims have been evacuated to the PPS, including an obese disabled person, who was transported using a Hicom lorry.
“The rain stopped completely at about 3.30pm, and JBPM has mobilised teams in case conditions worsen again. Rapid-response teams are ready to be deployed at any time depending on the situation,” he said.

In Banting, the situation is also under control following the cessation of rain, although floods may recur if it rains again tonight.
Banting BBP chief Arul Chselvan Chalaya said several villages were inundated following this afternoon’s rain, affecting between 10 and 12 families.
“In some villages the water only reached ankle level. Residents have been advised to evacuate if necessary, but many chose to remain in their homes,” he said.

Two PPS had been opened in Banting, and residents had begun relocating voluntarily without assistance from rescue agencies.
The river water levels in Labuhan Dagang began overflowing at around 3pm, but immediate embankment work by the Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS) helped to control the situation.
“Water levels in Bukit Changgang also exceeded the danger level, now above five metres. If it rains tonight, flooding may occur. Fire and rescue teams remain on 24-hour standby and are patrolling the entire area,” Arul Chselvan said.
JBPM teams in all affected zones remain on alert with continuous patrols to ensure the safety of residents, particularly in high-risk areas.
This aligns with this afternoon’s weather conditions, as the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) downgraded Selangor’s heavy rain warning from danger level to alert level.
