KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 — The majority of Malaysians believe that the Asean Summit 2025 2025 will bring tangible benefits to the nation, according to a survey from the UCSI Poll Research Centre.
Xinhua reported that the survey found that younger Malaysians aged 18 to 34 are the most positive, with 66 per cent believing the summit will lead to favourable trade agreements and better job opportunities.
In a statement today, USCI said that 61 per cent viewed the summit positively and that 50 per cent believed the decisions made at the summit would affect them.
However, only 38 per cent believed that Asean economic cooperation would reduce the daily cost of living.
On the bloc's priorities, 44 per cent listed the reduction in cost of living in the region as their top concern, followed closely by job creation at 41 per cent.
A coordinated effort to combat scams and crime was chosen by nine per cent, while climate change and environmental issues lagged at one per cent.
Malaysia recently hosted the 47th Asean Summit and its related meetings from October 26 to October 28 in Kuala Lumpur.
