SHAH ALAM, Nov 25 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has made proactive moves to reduce traffic congestion by installing smart AI-based traffic lights at hotspots.
It said the traffic lights adjust wait times based on the number of vehicles at each intersection, and aims to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion.
“Traffic dispersal needs special focus, especially at main intersections and roundabouts in Sections U10, U14, and Sections 1 to 25.
“The Engineering Department will submit road design improvement recommendations to ensure good flow,” it said in a statement after its monthly meeting yesterday.
It also said the department will perform a Level of Service study to assess density levels at intersections.
“With vehicle census data at traffic light intersections, the adjustment of wait times can be done more effectively,” the MBSA added.
