SHAH ALAM, Nov 24 — Several major routes around the city have been fully closed after heavy rain raised water levels, rendering the roads unsafe.
The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) said the Royal Malaysian Police issued the directive.
The affected roads are Jalan Seksyen 19, the main road from Section 24 heading towards Section 23, Persiaran Jubli Perak, and Persiaran Perusahan.
"The public is advised to exercise caution and use alternative routes for their safety," it said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) today.
Earlier, MBSA said several areas in Shah Alam were affected by floods, including Taman Desa Kemuning in Section 35, Kampung Budiman in Section U14, Kampung Kubu Gajah in Section U17, Giant’s supermarket in Section 13, Taman Sri Lembayung in Section 25, and Jalan Oper in Section U2.

Several areas in Klang were also affected, including Kampung Delek, Kapar, and Meru, which experienced rising water levels following continuous rainfall.
So far, five temporary relief centres (PPS) have been opened in four districts in Selangor to accommodate 110 victims from 30 families.
The centres are Dewan Sri Sekinchan and Dewan Sri Bernam (Sabak Bernam), the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Service Centre in Kampung Jaya Setia (Bestari Jaya), SK Sungai Serai (Hulu Langat), and Masjid Al-Falah in Kampung Budiman (Shah Alam).
