LANGKAWI, Nov 21 — The Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah delivered an impressive performance in the third race of the 35th Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta (RMSIR) from Penang to Langkawi, finishing in third place.
His Highness, along with the crew of the yacht Maduzi, competing in Class Four, completed the race in eight hours, three minutes, and 14 seconds. Tengku Amir's consort Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz also joined the race.
The Class Four race was won by the Kimikimi team from Poland in 7:46:26, while second place went to Kesini from Malaysia in 8:01:56.
The nine-day RMSIR, running from November 14 to November 22 and featuring 23 teams, will continue with inshore races around Pulau Langkawi today.
First organised in 1990, RMSIR is the second-oldest sailing championship in Asia and was conceived by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj when His Royal Highness was the Raja Muda.
