SHAH ALAM, Nov 20 — With Selangor nearly doubling its approved investment in the previous year, the state, through Invest Selangor Bhd, has gathered key industry players at the Selangor Investors Awards (SIAA) 2023-2025 to celebrate companies driving the state’s rapid economic growth in recent years.
According to the state’s investment arm, Selangor’s total approved investment of RM101.1 billion last year was nearly twice the RM55.3 billion recorded in 2023, which reflects the state’s position as the region’s most preferred investment destination.
Invest Selangor chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris, in his welcome address, said the investments affirm Selangor’s appeal to both domestic and foreign investors, creating jobs, fuelling economic growth, and bolstering key industries.
“The state government, through Invest Selangor, continues to proactively support and facilitate the needs of industries as they navigate today’s evolving economic challenges.
“This prestigious event, organised by Invest Selangor, is a tribute to the invaluable contributions of both our domestic and foreign investors, whose unwavering commitment and confidence have been instrumental in propelling Selangor’s economic success,” he said during the ceremony at Setia City Convention Centre here tonight.
Also present were Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han.

Hasan said the state’s flagship international events, such as the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) and the Selangor Aviation Summit (SAS), will continue to position Selangor as the gateway to Asean.
“Invest Selangor is executing a targeted, high-quality approach to investment attraction. Core initiatives, including the Selangor Soft Landing Programme, the Selangor Lab Partnership Programme, and the structured Managed Industrial Parks (MIP) guidelines, are key to offering a well-serviced, future-proof ecosystem to every investor,” he said.
The SIAA includes several categories, including Highest Investment Award by Foreign and Local Companies, Most Preferred Investment Location Award, Special Achievement Awards for the MIP and the Selangor Soft Landing Programme, and Special Recognition Awards for Government and Technical Agencies in Selangor.
The recipients were selected based on manufacturing and services projects approved by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) for the fiscal years 2023 and 2024.
