KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 — Selangor’s collaboration with Hannover Messe to host the Selangor Techsphere Summit 2025 reflects the state’s growing global status and openness to international partnerships.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state inaugural event paves the way for greater investment and recognition of Malaysian innovation in advanced industries on a global platform.
“This event marks an important milestone for Selangor as we continue our journey to position the state at the forefront of Malaysia’s transformation into a high-technology, innovation-driven economy.
“The Selangor Techsphere Summit 2025 is more than an event. It is a statement of confidence in Selangor’s vision, capacity, and leadership. It is about connecting ideas to action, industries to innovation, and talent to opportunity,” said Amirudin in his speech at the opening of the summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, here today.
The Menteri Besar said that apart from showcasing Selangor’s leadership in embracing Industry 4.0 and driving the national industrial and innovation agenda, the summit also plays a key role in advancing Selangor’s digital economy agenda.
He said the event, which runs for two days from today, also reinforces Malaysia’s ambition to become a regional leader in innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), and smart industry ecosystems.
“Our vision is to make Selangor the most advanced and competitive industrial state in the nation, ready to take its place on the global stage.
“Selangor stands proudly as the country’s leading hub for technology, manufacturing, and digital transformation, a place where ideas, innovation, and industry come together to shape the future.
“Together with the Federal government, Hannover Messe, and our international partners, we will continue driving the transformation that makes Selangor the true engine of Malaysia’s digital and industrial future,” he added.
Also present at the opening ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Hannover Fairs Australia and Asia Pacific managing director Tim Bostridge, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) group chief executive officer Dato’ Saipolyazan M Yusop, and Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) chief executive officer Dr Harizal Hamid.
Earlier, Amirudin also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between STDC and BMW Group Malaysia. The collaboration focuses on developing the automotive TVET sector in Selangor.
