SHAH ALAM, Nov 5 — The state government does not compromise on any wrongdoing involving its civil servants, particularly acts of corruption that could affect Selangor’s image and administration.

State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin said every complaint received, including those involving the local authorities, will be thoroughly investigated before action is taken.

"It cannot be denied that we do receive complaints involving local councils, including through anonymous letters. Some are baseless, some arise from dissatisfaction, and some are due to system weaknesses, but we investigate them all.

"What is important is that every complaint is reviewed and if proven guilty, action will be taken," he told the press after the Shah Alam National Integrity Dialogue (Diksa) 2025 today.

Fadzli reminded all civil servants to maintain good conduct at all times to protect the image of the state and their respective departments.

He cited a recent case of one individual who was seen smoking in a state government official vehicle as an example of behaviour that should not occur and can tarnish the government’s reputation.

"Regarding the case, we have issued a reminder and reprimand to the individual to be more careful. Civil servants reflect the image of their department, the government, and the services they deliver," Fadzli said.

The civil servant has since been issued a show-cause letter.

Commenting on Diksa, he said the programme organised by the Shah Alam City Council is commendable, as it promotes integrity among civil servants.

"Other local authorities are encouraged to host similar programmes, but what is more important is that efforts (to promote integrity) should not end here, but must be translated into the workplace culture, ultimately achieving zero corruption,” Fadzli said.
