PUTRAJAYA, Oct 28 — The Transport Ministry has ordered the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to open an investigation paper against Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) following aerotrain service disruptions at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said action is being taken as the aerotrain service has been operating for several months and the ministry views every disruption seriously.
“At the initial stage of operation, the ministry noted that MAHB needed time to adapt as this service was still in the adaptation phase. However, after several months of operation, strict action will be taken for every disruption,” he said in a statement today.
He said the operator’s licence issued to MAHB stipulates that the company is obliged to ensure the aerotrain is a satisfactory service.
Under the Land Public Transport Act 2010, Loke said, violations of the operator’s licence conditions could result in a compound of up to RM250,000 for each offence.
