Speed Selangor Policy implemented this month accelerates development approvals to 30 days

SHAH ALAM, Oct 26 — The Speed Selangor Policy, introduced to expedite and streamline the development approval process, has been implemented this month, involving all 12 local authorities in the state.

State executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han said the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to creating a fast, transparent, and investor-friendly environment, thereby positioning Selangor as a prime destination for both domestic and foreign investors.

“Starting from October, all 12 local authorities in Selangor will fully implement the Speed Selangor guidelines to accelerate the approval process for complete and compliant applications within 30 days, compared to the previous timeframe of three to 12 months,” he said in a Facebook post.

Speed Selangor focuses on industrial building projects, including planned industrial zones, factories, warehouses, and logistics facilities.

The policy also prioritises commercial developments, including hospitals, private universities and educational facilities, particularly high-impact projects that can enhance productivity and attract investment.

The approval process is expected to take a maximum of 30 days, comprising 21 days of pre-consultation and nine days for planning approval.

In the 2025 Selangor Budget, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari introduced Speed Selangor to shorten the approval period for industrial area planning permissions, in line with the state’s agenda to facilitate business operations and attract new industries to Selangor.
