KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 — A man was killed in a freak accident after the four-wheel drive vehicle he was driving was crushed by a fallen tree along Jalan Batang Kali in Hulu Selangor this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said his department received an emergency call at 2.14pm.
"Arriving at the location at 2.45pm, the firefighters found a fallen tree had crushed a Toyota Hilux pickup truck with a male driver trapped inside and he was pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement.
Five personnel from the Kuala Kubu Bharu Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the location and had to extricate the deceased victim.
