BANTING, Oct 5 — The Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) programme has received positive feedback from Malaysians of all backgrounds, who view it as an initiative that helps ease the cost of living while ensuring subsidies reach the intended groups.

Siti Mariam Misnan, 36, said the direct distribution of subsidies to eligible individuals demonstrates the government’s strong commitment to delivering targeted assistance effectively.

“As an ordinary citizen, I feel very grateful because this aid truly reaches Malaysians themselves. Besides helping to reduce daily expenses, it also prevents misuse by irresponsible parties,” she told Media Selangor.

Meanwhile, Zaleha Yunos, 70, said BUDI95's implementation has greatly benefited single mothers like her who depend on vehicles for daily activities.

“It is now easier to refuel without feeling burdened. The system is very efficient and not complicated.

"Even at my age, I can understand how it works — it is really user-friendly,” she said.

For Yusazli Ahmad Yusuf, 49, the monthly quota of 300 litres of petrol provided through BUDI95 is sufficient to meet daily needs, especially for those who commute to work every day.

He noted that the quota allows users to plan their fuel consumption wisely in terms of travel distance and refuelling frequency, helping them manage monthly expenses more effectively.

“As users, we can roughly estimate how many litres we consume each day, making it easier to control spending. So far, I have faced no issues.

“I hope there will be stricter monitoring to ensure this programme remains effective and fair for all eligible Malaysians,” Yusazli said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that Malaysians would enjoy RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre, compared to the previous RM2.05 per litre, under the BUDI95 programme starting Tuesday (September 30), regardless of income level.

Through the initiative, every Malaysian is entitled to up to 300 litres per month, while for non-citizens, the price of RON95 has been set at RM2.60 per litre effective from the same date.
