KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) will add two ETS trains for the Padang Besar-KL Sentral route and vice versa for Deepavali on October 20.
In a statement today, KTMB announced this supplementary service will run from October 17 to 22. Ticket sales open Tuesday 10am.
The extra trains offer 630 more seats per day, bringing the total number of seats available, including in business class, over the period to 3,780.
The extra service aims to meet the high demand during the festive season and help alleviate road traffic congestion for those traveling to their hometowns.
For Padang Besar-KL Sentral, the additional train will depart at 11.05am and arrive at 4.30pm. The return KL Sentral-Padang Besar trip will depart at 5pm and arrive at 10.20pm.
KTMB advised customers to buy their tickets via the KTMB Mobile app (KITS) or the KTMB website, and to use KTM Wallet to expedite payments.
The statement also reminded travellers to arrive at the station 30 minutes before departure, as the gates will close five minutes before the train leaves.
