BUDI95 system safe from cyber threats — Gobind

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 — The government is confident the BUDI Madani RON95 (BUDI95) system is secure against cyber threats, said Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

He said the cyber security aspect of the system has been thoroughly studied to ensure its effectiveness, and has considered various potential risks.

“What we have implemented is a system that has already considered such possibilities. It is safe for us to proceed for now, and this aspect has been carefully assessed.

“The prime minister has always prioritised security in all aspects of digitalisation, and the same applies to BUDI95. Security has been given special attention, and the existing system is well prepared for all eventualities,” he told reporters at a press conference today.

Gobind was speaking after officiating the opening of the Cyber Digital Services, Defence and Security Asia Exhibition and Conference at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) here today.

Meanwhile, Gobind announced that the Digital Trust and Data Security Strategy 2026-2030, drafted in collaboration with CyberSecurity Malaysia and the National Digital Department, will be launched by year end.

He said the strategy will outline measures to strengthen cybersecurity and build user confidence for the 2026 to 2030 period.

“I hope we can launch the document before year end, allowing us to see, understand and implement our future work, especially in building digital trust,” Gobind added.
