SHAH ALAM, Sept 29 — The Selangor delegation to China headed by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari inspected a cross-border e-trading facility yesterday and also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) while in Shenzhen.
The delegation paid a visit to the operations team at Amazon Cross-Border E-Commerce and observed a live-streaming demonstration conducted by Hei Ma Overseas Women’s Apparel to market their clothing.
Amirudin said he was excited to see how a 24-hour e-commerce platform could operate without any staff present, and how a live session was able to be streamed to the whole world using AI to automatically translate Mandarin into different languages.
The delegation then visited an MoU signing event between Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC), APR Electronic Services Sdn Bhd (APR) and Hei Ma Overseas Services (Shenzhen) Co Ltd.

"The strategic partnership ties TVET with e-commerce in the field of live streaming, and will create skilled workers, support our digital industry and open up opportunities for cross-border trade. It will also elevate Selangor’s status as a regional hub that grows digital experts,” Amirudin said.
The initiative includes the setting up of a Malaysia–China Training and Incubation Centre headed by the Selangor government, the creation of a supply chain for Chinese products into Malaysia, and also the setting up of a Malaysian Product Base in China to promote and market quality Malaysian goods to the world.
“God willing, these long-term investments, made for Selangor’s digital future, will ensure that the younger generation will be ready to face the challenges brought on by the lightning pace of e-commerce in the world today,” said Amirudin.
He also said that the entire mission will not only strengthen Malaysia’s ties with China, but also champion the cause of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and that of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), a trade agreement between the 10 members of Asean, plus China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
