KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — Selangor FC has announced that they have relieved Katsuhito Kinoshi from his duties as first team head coach.
The Red Giants expressed their appreciation and thanked him for his contributions, efforts, and commitment throughout his tenure with them.
"Selangor FC would like to announce that Katsuhito Kinoshi has been relieved from his duties as first team head coach.
"Christophe Gamel (of France) will take over the role on an interim basis while we search for a permanent head coach,” the club said in a statement today.
Selangor are currently fifth in the 13-team Super League standings with six points from two wins and three defeats.
The Red Giants had also defeated Singapore's Tampines Rovers 4-2 in the Asean Club Championship on Wednesday (September 24).
Kinoshi, 61, was appointed Selangor head coach after Nidzam Jamil resigned from the post in October last year.
Under the Japanese coach, Selangor ended their almost decade-long trophy drought by lifting the 2024-2025 Malaysian Football League (MFL) Challenge Cup.
