KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 — The retail price of RON95 will remain unchanged at RM2.05 per litre, while RON97 will increase by three sen from RM3.18 to RM3.21 per litre from September 18 to September 24.
The Finance Ministry (MOF) announced that for the same period, the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will also increase by three sen, from RM2.90 to RM2.93 per litre, but the price in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will remain at RM2.15 per litre.
The price is determined based on the weekly retail price of petroleum products using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula.
"The government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust the retail prices of RON97 petrol and diesel, taking into account the movement of market oil prices and supporting price stability," it said in a statement today.
The government will also continue to monitor the effects of changes in world crude oil prices and take appropriate steps to ensure the people's welfare and well-being remain protected.
