HULU LANGAT, July 27 — The Selangor Agro Green 2025 programme, organised by the Selangor Department of Agriculture, is targeting 10,000 visitors over its three-day run at Taman Flora Cheras.
State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato' Izham Hashim said the programme, formerly known as Customer Engagement Day, has been given a fresh identity as a platform to showcase developments in the agriculture and agri-food sectors in the state.
“This new approach allows us to expand the programme’s scope to include high-value agriculture, modern technology, agro-tourism, and the modernisation of Selangor's food supply chain,” he said after officiating the Selangor Agro Green 2025 programme yesterday.
Izham noted that this year’s edition is distinct as it is being held outside a shopping centre, in a setting closer to nature, highlighting the true potential of Selangor’s agricultural sector.
“We usually hold it in shopping malls due to the high footfall, but for the first time, we have chosen this very attractive location that aligns well with the green agriculture concept,” he said.
The programme also benefits external stakeholders, particularly in raising awareness about initiatives and efforts by young entrepreneurs in Selangor.
“In addition, business matching sessions are also provided to facilitate strategic collaborations between industry players, while the sale of agricultural products at special prices is also one of the main attractions,” Izham said.
Throughout the three-day event, a variety of activities are lined up including exhibitions, fresh produce sales, workshops, demonstrations of the latest agricultural technologies, and business matching sessions.
“The programme runs from today until Monday (July 28). The public still has the opportunity to attend with their families and witness first-hand the strength of Agro Selangor,” he said.
