SHAH ALAM, July 26 — The Jualan Ehsan Rahmah (JER) programme will continue as usual and will not be reduced, despite the Federal government expanding the implementation of the Madani Rahmah Sales Programme with an additional RM300 million allocation.

State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato' Izham Hashim said that instead of scaling down, JER will be streamlined to ensure that more people benefit, particularly in terms of access to essential goods at affordable prices.

“We will observe their (Madani Rahmah Programme) implementation and coordinate accordingly. However, from Selangor's side, our existing efforts will continue because we know that more people will benefit, whether through Federal or state programmes.

“The overall increase is around RM600 million. This will certainly impact Selangor, but we will coordinate accordingly. It is not about reducing efforts, but rather widening coverage for the people.

"I believe this is positive news as announced by the Prime Minister,” he told the press after the launching ceremony of Ehsan-branded frozen products at Wisma PKPS yesterday.

Earlier, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the government is targeting the implementation of 20,000 Rahmah Sales events nationwide, covering 222 Parliamentary constituencies, over 600 state constituencies, and 40 zones in the Federal Territories.

Enhancements to the programme also include the expansion of essential goods based on needs and seasons, increased sales frequency, and greater participation from strategic partners.
