SHAH ALAM, June 26 — Two motorcyclists were killed and two others seriously injured in an accident at Km 51.1 of the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) heading towards Pulau Carey yesterday night.
Klang Selatan police chief ACP Ramli Kasa said four males, aged between 15 and 25, were believed to be racing their motorcycles at high speed from the direction of Laguna Park, Pulau Indah, when a pile-up occurred at 11pm.
“Two of the motorcycles grazed each other, causing the riders to fall, before being struck from behind by the other two motorcycles.
“Two individuals aged 15 and 25 were confirmed dead at the scene while two others aged 24 and 15 were seriously injured and taken to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR), Klang for treatment,” he said in a statement today.
Ramli added that the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and urged anyone with related information to contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Khairul Nizam Abdul Talib at 03-33722222.
He also advised parents and guardians to monitor and supervise their children's activities, especially at night.
