Unisel improves campus facilities with launch of new synthetic farm

BESTARI JAYA, May 25 — Universiti Selangor (Unisel) marked a meaningful achievement with the launch of a new synthetic field at its Bestari Jaya campus, to empower its sports and recreational facilities.

Present at the launch last night was Unisel president and vice-chancellor Prof Emeritus Dato’ Mohammad Redzuan Othman.

The modern field is equipped with quality synthetic grass, an efficient drainage system, and stadium lighting, which allows night-time sports activities.

“This field not only fulfils students’ needs, but opens doors to talent development among youth, and elevates Unisel’s name in the national sports arena,” Redzuan said in his speech at the launch.

The ceremony was enlivened with a football friendly and a cultural performance by Unisel’s Kelab Citra Seni.

Also present were national football legends including Mahali Jasuli, Kalamullah Al-Hafiz and Azfar Arif.

Meanwhile, Unisel deputy vice-chancellor of student development Hamdan Dato’ Mohammad Salleh said the facility is in line with Unisel’s vision of being an institution that emphasises academic balance and student growth.

Also present were Unisel sports and cultural director Ikwaniata Taib, staff, students, and local residents.

The synthetic field is set to positively impact Unisel’s promotion of a healthy lifestyle among campusgoers, and make the institution a state hub for higher sports education.
